Growsafe

Agcarm supports GROWSAFE which is part of the New Zealand Agrichemical Education Trust.

The Trust was established in March 1992 by primary producer groups to work with all agrichemical users to help bring about safe, responsible and effective use of agrichemicals in New Zealand.

GROWSAFE standards for safety and environmental protection are essential to ensuring New Zealand remains internationally competitive.

The GROWSAFE training programmes are designed to ensure that all those who handle and use animal health and crop protection products are properly trained.

There are two principal GROWSAFE courses:

The GROWSAFE Distributors’ course

The GROWSAFE Distributors’ course covers the skills and knowledge required for personnel involved in the distribution of animal health and crop protection products. This is of direct relevance to Agcarm members.

The GROWSAFE Users’ course

The GROWSAFE Users’ course covers the skills and knowledge required for personnel using animal health and crop protection products. These causes are mainly for farmers, growers and other users.

Information on specific courses is available from www.growsafe.co.nz.
